Lion sands game reserve

Overview

Owned by the more family for four generations. Set along the banks of the Sabie River and attracting abundant Big Five wildlife from Sabi Sand and Kruger National Park, Lion Sands is comprised of four lodges and three Treehouses experiences. Enjoy daily game drives and nature walks, a hippo tour and a bush dinner with stargazing.

Located in the Mpumalanga province, and the four lodges are found in the Sabi Sand, Private Game Reserve, and Kruger National Park. An hour's flight from Johannesburg and two hours from Cape Town.

Accommodation

There are six lodges and three treehouses; Lodge facilities include a lounge, dining and relaxation space, with an expansive wooden deck overlooking the Sabie River, a private pool, art gallery and an Africology spa and gym.

Features

  • Game drives are conducted twice a day, in the company of expert field guides and trackers. Vehicles move off road through rough and unchartered terrain, tracking the many animals of the bush.
  • Walking safaris are the perfect way to forge a one-on-one connection with Africa. 
  • Each of the Lodges at Lion Sands has an Africology Spa on site. A range of body, skin and grooming treatments are available.
  • The bush dinner surrounded by hundreds of lanterns hung from giant trees.
