Day 1 Wednesday: The Ghan and Katherine:
A complimentary coach transfer from your hotel this morning will take you to Darwin’s Rail Terminal to join The Ghan. Your first stop is in Katherine for an Off Train Excursion of Katherine Gorge. Reboard the train for your overnight journey to Alice Springs.
Day 2 Thursday: Alice Springs and Outback:
Arrive in Alice Springs and join an Off Train Excursion before reboarding the train en route to Port Augusta.
Day 3 Friday: Port Augusta and Wilpena Pound Resort:
On arrival in Port Augusta, you will be met by your guide to begin your Flinders Ranges Adventure. Travel by road to Wilpena Pound, your base for the next two nights at Wilpena Pound Resort.
Day 4 Saturday: Brachina and Bunyeroo Gorges:
After breakfast, depart on your four-wheel drive tour. Search for Yellow Footed Rock Wallabies and enjoy sweeping views of Bunyeroo Valley and the eastern wall of Wilpena Pound. Later on, be amazed at a scenic flight providing spectacular views of Wilpena Pound and surrounding areas – there is nothing quite like seeing it from the air.
Day 5 Sunday: Wilpena Pound Resort, Clare Valley and Adelaide:
Depart Wilpena Pound Resort and enjoy a short stop en route in the famous wine region of the Clare Valley, before travelling on to Adelaide.

During your journey through Australia, you will visit the town of Coober Pedy, where more than half of the residents live underground. Venture into the tunnels and caves of this underground town, where you may even catch opal fever as you mine for riches, visit the otherworldly underground Serbian Orthodox church and take a glimpse of Umoona Opal Mine.

Smart casual attire is suggested for guests travelling in Platinum Service and Gold Service. Warm clothes are recommended for evenings on board the train, as the air-conditioning can be cool. It is recommended that guests pack a hat, sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes for off-train touring. Sensible shoes are advisable for walking between carriages.
