Camp Jabulani

Camp Jabulani is a family owned and managed private safari lodge offering accommodation of six suites, cuisine, facilities and personalized servie. The most notable feature is the herd of trained African elephants. Visitors have the opportunity to meet the elephants as well as view them in close proximity.


Camp Jabulani is located within the private Kapama Game Reserve in Hoedspruit, South Africa (in close proximity to the Kruger National Park in the scenic Mpumalanga region). The lodge is easily accessible by road, or by air on daily scheduled flights from Johannesburg or private charter flights.

The lodge has only six suites-suited to the family traveller, or the client who prefers a more private. The spacious suites feature a wooden deck with plunge pool, a seating area with fireplace and an open-plan bathroom with glass enclosed shower. For relaxation, Camp Jabulani's therapy Lapa, an open-air spa, offers a massages and beauty treatments and guest can work out at a bush gymnasium. Facilities also include an open-plan lounge area, with laptop computer and wifi connectivity, and an open-plan dining room for evening meals or rainy days.


  • Daily elephant interactions: Guests will have the opportunity to meet up with the elephant herd. Visitors will have a chance to touch and feed the elephants, and to have photographs taken in very close proximity.
  • Game drives in the Big Five private Kapama Game Reserve: Guests join their high experienced ranger in his open safari vehicle for a game drive, and head out in search of The Big Five, and the smaller creatures that are part of an African safari.
  • Guided walking safaris:Heading into the bush with an armed ranger, guests can learn more about the many different facets of the bush. The lucky may encounter animals in close proximity
