Day 1

Welcome to London!

Welcome to London! You will be picked up at the airport where your private driver will take you to the Rubens At The Palace Hotel, this beautifully restored historic hotel is cared for by a team who take genuine pride in delivering impeccable service and exceeding expectations at every turn. Overlooking The Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace, the entrance used by the Royal family – Make sure to practice your Royal Wave as you could spot some of the Royals pottering about – The Rubens showcases exceptional dining journeys, and enriching and rewarding experiences, from the very first moment guests are greeted by the red-uniformed doormen. As the room may not be ready on arrival, walk the short distance to the front of the Palace and try to catch the Change of the Guard (usually 10:45am, different times may apply due to the special celebrations). In the afternoon, explore the area with your local expert including Buckingham Palace Gardens, St James Park, St Paul’s Cathedral and more.

Day 2

Windsor Castle & Hampton Court

Today, you will visit the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world : the Windsor Castle. Founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, it has since been the home of 39 monarchs. Today The Queen spends most of her private weekends at the Castle. Then, explore Hampton Court Palace, its outdoor spaces and its 60 acres of magnificent gardens.

Day 3

Queen's Jubilee Parade

Today is the day of the parade. Since your hotel is well located, you will have easy access to nice spots. Make sure to leave early since it is going to be crowded. Beginning at Buckingham Palace, the Parade will move down The Mall to Horse Guard’s Parade, joined by Members of the Royal Family on horseback and in carriages. Over 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians will come together in the traditional Parade to mark The Queen’s official birthday. After this exciting morning experience where you may catch a glimpse and be able to wave at the Queen, enjoy an Afternoon Tea with Etiquette guide at the Montague At the Garden. It was Anna, Duchess of Bedford, who started a tradition of inviting friends to join her for an additional afternoon meal at 4pm in her rooms at Belvoir Castle around 1840. She invented this because of the long gap between breakfast and dinner time. This practice was so popular, that when she returned to London, she would invite her friends to join her for tea, and this trend soon took off, with many socialites of her day following her footsteps. The Bedford occupy (even to this day) a private residence across Montague Street Gardens, which the Hotel overlooks, and the The Bedford name is synonymous with our local area, Bloomsbury. As it was the Duke of Bedford that planned and built the area as an affluent Regency Era residential area.
