FEATURING:
Who exactly was Robert Burns?

Renowned as Scotland’s National Bard, Robert Burns was a poet and song writer. The son of a local farmer, Burns’ childhood experiences shaped how he wrote his poetry – particularly the supernatural stories told to him by a local woman who used to help on the family farm. Burns’ poetry, are a reflection of traditional Scottish culture, the working class, farm life and religious distinctions. While his ballads and songs celebrate work, love, friendship and his love of alcohol. These songs were often written with a sense of humour and tender sympathy.
