Welcome to Scotland & Gleneagles Grandeur
- Welcome to Scotland! Upon your arrival at Glasgow or Edinburgh Airport, you will be met at the aircraft (or Terminal if parked on a remote stand), escorted through immigration and assisted with completion of paperwork where applicable, guided to baggage reclaim and escorted to kerbside where your chauffeur driver will transport you to Gleneagles Resort (about 90min transfer time). Relax at property, or time permitting, try some of their in Estate activities (not included).
Royal Legacy & Rare Whisky at Broomhall House
- Today tour to Broomhall House, Home of the descending family of King Robert the Bruce. Hosted lunch and house tour with Lord Bruce. Meet world-renowned author, whisky expert and ‘nose’, Charles MacLean MBE for an exclusive whisky tasting.
Off-Road Adventures & The Golden Dram
- Depart Gleneagles and tour to Speyside, Scotland’s most prominent whisky-producing region. On the way enjoy a Ranger Led Off Road Driving Experience and private lunch, and visit your first “hidden gem distillery” of this itinerary. Aberfeldy Distillery produces a single malt Scotch whisky widely known as the ‘golden dram’ which is a sweet as honey. I call it ‘breakfast’ whisky! It is also the base malt for Dewar’s, the most rewarded blended Scotch whisky in the world. Dewar’s master blender in 1902 was AJ Cameron who pioneered the idea of returning whisky to cask after blending to allow the spirits to marry for three to six months, which is continued to this day and in fact increased to two years for the Dewar’s signature blend. Continue to your private castle in the heard to Speyside for Welcome Dinner.
Icons of Whisky: The Macallan, Glenfiddich & Glenlivet
- Today explore Speyside and enjoy a bespoke experiences at the ‘big three’ The Macallan, The Glenfiddich, the Glenlivet, followed by visit to Balvenie and Royal Sault (time permitting). Lunch will be at a traditional local pub. Private dinner back at the Castle.
Clay Shooting & Cask Secrets at GlenAllachie
- This morning enjoy a clay pigeon shooting activity at a nearby Estate followed by lunch and in the afternoon discover a less well known yet, highly regarded distillery in Speyside to meet the independent owner. A bespoke experience at The GlenAllachie Distillery, will include a tour of the distillery followed by a tutored tasting in the blending room, including drawing samples from the cask, with the owner, who is a world-renowned master distiller and blender.
Through the Highlands to Hidden Distilleries
- Depart Speyside and travel through the Cairngorms National Park to Angus which will be your next stop. In this area you will discover some concealed treasures.
- Discover Fettercairn Distillery, Glencadam Distillery and Arbikie Distillery
- Bespoke Whisky Experiences.
Highland Games & Castle Revelry
- Day at the Estate. Private Mini Highland Games, kilts, whisky and cigars.
The Spirit of Scotland in Edinburgh
- Make your way back to Edinburgh as your trip draws to an end. In the evening private dinner whisky tasting at the The Scotch Whisky Experience. Did you know the original whisky collection that has become The Scotch Whisky Experience was originally owned by a Brazilan. The original 3,384 bottles were amassed by Brazilian businessman, Claive Vidiz. One of the rarest bottles is a Buchanan’s whisky dating back to 1897.
Edinburgh at Leisure: Whisky, History & Hidden Finds
- Day at leisure in Edinburgh. Visits to The Johnnie Walker Experience, Edinburgh Castle, and independent whisky shops can be organised (not included).
