Amangani - Adams & Butler

Iconic Hotels

Amangani (which means “peaceful home”) is Amanresorts’; first North American resort. Nearly 7,000 feet above sea level, the resort overlooks meadows and grazing land. Across the valley is Teton Pass, which divides the Snake River Range from the snow-capped Tetons. The Teton Range, dominated by the 4,200m summit of Grand Teton, is the youngest of the Rocky Mountains. The snow-fed waters of the Snake River gather in the Yellowstone Plateau and wind south through Jackson Hole. The 40-suite, three-storey resort is set on the cliffedge of a butte. Its roof, crafted of cedar shakes, flows like a natural outcropping. Amangani makes extensive use of Oklahoma sandstone and Pacific redwood. Douglas fir and cedar also lend shape and style to the resort. A soaring ceiling and a wide, two-storey window with stunning mountain views opens up from the lobby.

With skiing terrain that is among the best in North America and two premier national parks nearby, Jackson Hole is ideally positioned to take advantage of the region’s outdoor offerings in all four seasons. Alpine and cross-country skiing are joined by nature treks and guided tours, as well as more uncommon options: heli-skiing, dog sledding, white water rafting, fly fishing, photography tours and more. The charm of the Rocky Mountains finds full expression in Jackson Hole, where a myriad of mountainous pursuits are paired with magnificent natural splendour. Amangani’s private ski lodge can also plan snowmobiling and snowshoeing, and sleigh rides.

Contemporary and stylish with high ceilings and large picture windows, Amangani’s Suites are warm havens mirroring their magnificent natural setting. Wood and stone are prominent design materials, referencing the surrounding mountains and forests, while woven cowhide chairs and faux-wolf throws nod to the region’s wild soul. All have terraces or balconies with mountain views. These suites include a bedroom/living room and a spacious bathroom/dressing room. The living area consists of a king-size platform bed and a gas lit fireplace. Furnishings include a redwood-frame day bed for lounging, a black resin-and-terrazzo dining table, woven cowhide chairs in faux wolf fabric and a pine-stump table.
