Set amidst 10 wooded acres, Ardtara is an elegant 19th-century mansion in the heart of Northern Ireland. Built in 1896 by Harry Clark as a romantic and lively family home. Harry was a restless adventurer who was coerced to join his family’s linen business with promises of global travel and the freedom to pursue his ambitions.
Just 15 minutes from Seamus Heaney Home Place and within 45 minutes of Belfast, Derry, the Giant’s Causeway, the Antrim coast, Royal Portrush Golf Club and many Game of Thrones filming locations, it’s the perfect base from which to explore the local area and Northern Ireland.
With an emphasis on using seasonal local produce and fruit and vegetables from the gardens, Ardtara’s award-winning restaurant serves exquisite dinners, a casual lounge menu, sumptuous afternoon teas and a superb Sunday lunch.
This charming house features a plethora of original Victorian features including working fireplaces in the bedrooms, which are uniquely designed, in keeping with the style of the house, but with all modern conveniences and comforts.
