Exploring a country aboard a train affords the ability to see more destinations in comfort and luxury. The Blue Train’s luxurious carriages and car suites take you from Cape Town to Pretoria (or vice versa) through breath-taking countryside of semi-desert, savannah, winelands and more.

The Blue Train offers a return journey to the Kruger National Park once a year. This journey offers two nights on the train and a day in the Kruger area, and includes two game drives and two meals in the bush.

All the carriages, suites and lounges boast extravagant furnishings that fuse luxury and comfort seamlessly. Gourmet food prepared by a top chef and fine regional wines are served by uniformed waiters in the smart dining car where tables are dressed in white linen tablecloths, sparkling cutlery and crystal glasses. Dinner orders a strict dress code too: dinner jackets for the gentlemen, elegant evening wear for ladies (dress code is a bit more relaxed these days). Moreover, head to the Observation Car to sip on some bubbly and enjoy oysters, as you watch the sublime landscapes fade behind you into the horizon.

All the suites come with en-suite bathrooms with showers plus all the customary in-room amenities. The luxury suites which come with bath tubs.

There are two trains with differing capacity which operate along the scheduled routes of Cape Town to Pretoria or they can be chartered for unusual itineraries or even hired for exclusive private use.
