Semliki Safari Lodge is situated in the Toro-Semliki Wildlife Reserve  – Uganda’s oldest protected area – in the heart of the Albertine Rift. Bordered by the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains, Lake Albert and the Western Rift Valley escarpment, the reserve is gifted by these geographic barriers which form a natural haven for wildlife.
Everything in this valley is unique and a little kooky:  Shoebills are regularly seen on boat trips on Lake Albert, dry habitat chimpanzees thrive in the forest (there is a research project here and guests are welcome to participate), and forest elephants are regular visitors to the lodge.
The bird species found here are spectacular – including a number of endemics found nowhere else.  The elegant main lodge with its deep sofas and gleaming timber floors is perched on a hill overlooking the forest canopy.  Open on one side in grand safari tradition, the lodge celebrates its location in this very special landscape.
