Tandala Tented Camp and Safaris is named after the majestic antelope, the Kudu, who frequents the surrounding area. (Tandala is Kiswahili for Greater and Lesser Kudu).

Tandala Tented Camp and Safaris is more than merely a lodge, it’s your home away from home. With our simple comforts, intimate atmosphere and friendly staff to make you feel welcome and relaxed, you will be as part of our family.

​Tandala also supports the Mbomipa Village Project helping towards the awareness and conservation of wildlife by the surrounding villages, whereby, they benefit by being able to become more self sufficient and able to build schools and dispensaries.

Whether visiting and talking to the local people, attending cultural performances, purchasing local handicrafts or discovering the local wilderness on foot, we can offer you, by prior arrangement: A traditional and authentic Maasai Boma visit,and between June to November also ‘Walking Safaris’.

Excursions are undertaken either in the early mornings for half a day including a bush breakfast, or for a full day which will include a bush breakfast and a picnic lunch. It is a maximum 10 minute drive from our camp to our destination. 3 pax minimum. Children of all ages are welcome.

Where required, we have open sided four wheel vehicles and you will be accompanied by an experienced guide and driver.
