Property overview

Maybole Castle is a Grade A listed building situated in the heart of the Ayrshire countryside. This magnificent example of stunning Regency architecture is more than just a property or avenue; it is part of Scotland’s rich heritage. The former European City of Culture, Glasgow, is only an hour away if you want to give your visit an urban edge. Widely regarded as one of the UK’s finest shopping cities, Glasgow also has a wealth of intellectual attractions including an assortment of museums, art galleries and concert halls.

Accommodation

Maybole Castle has 15 bedrooms each individually designed in a sumptuous, yet elegant fashion that will make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Every one of the bedrooms has tall sash windows that open to stunning views of the surrounding grounds and the Ayrshire countryside beyond. Beautifully spacious, each room has either a super king or king size bed for you to fall into at the end of long day. The rest of the interior is equally impressive, with period furniture sitting side-by-side with modern bathrooms that have been installed with great attention to detail.

Location

The small North Ayrshire town of Dalry stands on the west bank of the River Garnock, almost enclosed by a loop of rivers formed by the River Garnock to the east, the Rye Water to the north, and the Caaf Water to the south. The Garnock Valley traditionally offered the easiest overland route from Glasgow to Ayrshire, and Dalry developed to serve the traffic along the route, as well as a focal point for the wider rural area. Perhaps unusually, Dalry has never been bypassed by the main road, and the A737 crosses the River Garnock north east of the town before coming through it en route south towards Kilwinning.
