Moray Estate is located in a village on the banks of the River Spey in Moray. Their Walled Garden is one of the oldest and largest kitchen gardens in Britain, which you can explore throughout the year. They have a cafe serving a wide range of delicious, locally sourced meals, including quality coffee and homemade sandwiches and cakes. They also have a children's play area and shops selling plants and produce from the garden and home and pantry items.
They host family events and activities throughout the year. Additionally, they offer salmon fishing and traditional shoots for those interested in more traditional country pursuits. For those looking for a longer stay, we offer luxury accommodation and holiday cottages. They are also a popular wedding venue, with the newly built Tower Hall, which can accommodate up to 250 guests, and the historic orangery, which can accommodate 80 guests.
Set in the heart of our Scottish sporting estate, each of the holiday cottages offers charm and character. Available all year round, the cottages sleep between two and fourteen guests and can accommodate 36 guests throughout the five individual properties, ideal for family getaways!
Accommodation
The Castle marries the traditional splendour of a Highland Scottish castle with a subtle touch of 21st Century comfort and is available for exclusive hire. The Castle boasts eight spacious bedrooms of individual character (each with en-suite bathroom and king sized bed), a drawing room, a study, a billiard room and two large reception rooms. Travel cots and high chairs are available and a number of the bedrooms can be turned into twin bedded rooms. Satellite TV and WI-FI broadband are also provided. Whether you are looking for one or seven nights, the Castle is available for exclusive use hire and comes fully staffed and fully catered for up to 18 guests.
Lodge - It is a newly remodelled property which has transformed two adjoined houses into one seven-bedroom lodge house. Originally, the lodge was the kennel keeper’s house and work rooms for the Castle dogs. It compromises of 7 double or twin bedrooms (all but 1 is en suite, however that bedroom has its own dedicated bathroom). There is plenty of room for everyone in the lodge, including a bedroom with its own external door which could afford a degree of privacy to a chef or au-pair. he Orangery is a bright and airy conservatory dining room that can seat up to 14 guests. The brand-new fitted kitchen, drying room and utility room ensure that the Lodge is more than equipped for up to 14 guests.
Lakeside Cottage - This comfortable and well equipped rustic cottage is sited next to an ornamental lake within the grounds of the Estate. It has two twin bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, a cosy sitting/dining room, a good sized kitchen and a cloakroom. Lakeside Cottage sleeps four guests in comfort and the adjacent Bothy has a further two twin bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate shower room, thus providing for parties of up to eight. For families with young children, there are cots and high chairs available. For fishing parties, there is a full-sized lockable rod box.
Courtyard Cottage - This comfortable two-bedroom holiday cottage is adjacent to the Castle and all rooms look out onto the Castle Garden. It has an attractive sitting room, a large kitchen and a well-equipped bathroom. There is full central heating and the property is available for short or long lets.
Garden Cottage - This spacious and well equipped 18th Century detached cottage is sited on the edge of our magnificent Walled Garden. It has four delightfully furnished twin bedrooms, two with en-suite bathrooms, a separate bathroom with an antique bath and power shower, a large kitchen, a utility room with chest freezer, a comfortable sitting room with an open log fire and a separate dining room large enough for entertaining visitors. It sleeps eight guests.
