The oldest property in Matos Morenos, Quinta Bonita has been expanded and revitalised to create a unique contemporary retreat. Traditional charm and modern luxury blend seamlessly in idyllic surroundings to create a truly unforgettable experience. The property is set on 10,000square metres of beautiful mature gardens with panoramic ocean views on both sides. The gardens include large outdoor swimming pool, large terraces on three sides of the house with pool and sea views for outdoor lounge and dining, sloping and flat lawns, waterfalls, ponds, orchard, formal Italian garden with outdoor Chess set, dry garden with day bed and a beautiful yoga shala (available by request only). There is a large car park at both the top and bottom of the property.
Accommodation
Quinta Bonita features eight spacious, individually-designed and beautifully decorated rooms, including one master suite, plus a 2 bedroom cottage, Casa Bonita located in its grounds.
Inside the main house we have 8 individually designed bedrooms with super king size beds, including one Master Suite with four poster bed; all rooms have balconies or terraces, air-conditioning, and ensuite bathrooms. The house has a large cosy lounge with log fire, dining area with tiled breakfast counter, traditional kitchen, large entrance hall with beautiful steep stone staircase and outdoor lounge area.
All rooms have personal items from the lifelong travels of the owners – batiks from Indonesia, paintings from Sydney markets, porcelain antiques from Northern Portugal and wooden statues from Africa. Individually designed by the mother and daughter of the family each room has a carefully chosen combination of designer fabrics, artwork and personal touches.
Location
Quinta Bonita is minutes away from all that the Algarve has to offer, from stunning beaches to the romance of Lagos' old town, and with over 3000 hours of sun a year the Algarve has the perfect climate in which to relax and discover.
With its castle walls, narrow, cobbled streets, pottery shops and numerous pavement cafes from which to watch the world go by, Lagos has a relaxed atmosphere and quiet charm, making it one of the most appealing locations in the Algarve. While away some time browsing the boutiques, enjoy the colourful Saturday fruit & vegetable market or take a walk along the long sandy beach of Meia Praia which stretches all the way to Alvor and conveniently has several small beach bars along the way to quench your thirst!
One of our favourite walks is along the cliffs from Luz to Burgau where you arrive into a quaint white washed fishing village with an excellent restaurant on the beach to refuel.
Praia Da Luz is only five minutes from Quinta Bonita and has a long curve of sand in a very protected bay - perfect for swimming. Quinta Bonita is just moments away from some of the best beaches on the Algarve Coast. Whether you're looking for a bracing ocean swim, a surf or a place to sun yourself on perfect white sand, we can recommend a beach for you.
