There are 14 acres of natural landscape surrounding the house and a small sandy cove a short walk through the gardens. Connemara quartz hill’s flank the back of the house and the Atlantic opens out in the front. Clifden town, bustling with pubs and restaurants is just 10 minutes’ drive away on a typically Irish narrow road but there is an excellent taxi service available for night owls. The surrounding Connemara landscape is unparalleled in beauty with stunning white sandy beaches and vast empty landscapes of mountain and ocean.

Originally a Connemara homestead dating from the early 19th century, Sky Road Villa has been extensively refurbished into a modern coastal home. Each of the six bedrooms has an exceptional view with all been finished to exacting standards, with high ceilings, wooden floors, modern bathrooms and under floor heating.

Sky Road Villa is located on the aptly names Sky Road along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way coastal route, just 3 miles west of the town of Clifden. Clifden, the “Capital of Connemara” is just over an hours drive north-west of Galway City. The area is well connected to nearby towns and cities and easily accessible by Knock Airport, Co. Mayo (2 hours drive), Shannon Airport, Co. Clare (under 3 hours drive) and Dublin Airport (3.5hrs drive).

The villa provides the ideal base to explore the Wild Atlantic Way from. On your doorstep, is a stony beach with a sandy cove for swimming . Nearby, you have access to Ireland’s finest coastline and a breath of activities which include everything from adventure based sports with Real Adventures, to mountain hiking in Connemara National Park. Golfing, sailing and surfing are all accessible nearby too.
