The Highland Retreat is set on an estate of over 800 acres of Scottish nature. The main loch is 40 acres in size. Two lochans, Kettle Loch and Bridesfauld Loch, are nestled in the surrounding woodlands.
Miles of ancient woodlands and opportunities for forest bathing abound, naturally, and pleased to additionally provide: rowing boats, mountain bikes, Fishing rods during the season, an outdoor sauna by the loch, a gym in the woods.
Accommodation
Six peaceful bedrooms. Seven bathrooms. Two full-spec kitchens and a utility room with a wood-burning stove. A grand dining room to seat fourteen. An elegant drawing room and a cosy sitting room, with roaring fireplaces.
Make yourself at home with Wi-Fi, TV, board games, books, hairdryers, washing machine & dryer, iron & board.
Locally made naturally pure bathroom products, Egyptian cotton bedlinen, Italian bathrobes are provided for your comfort. Whilst the house comfortably sleeps ten, larger groups over ten can also make use of a small double bed to accommodate 12.
Location
Nestled in the world-famous whisky region, Elgin lies on the south coast of the Moray Firth roughly midway between Inverness and Aberdeen and straddles the River Lossie.
The town offers many pleasant characteristics, breathtaking scenery and a number of local distilleries including Glen Moray, Gordon & MacPhail and Glen Elgin, most of which have open days for the public and whisky trails.
On North College Street is the lovely ruin of Elgin Cathedral. Once considered Scotland's most beautiful cathedral, rivalling St Andrews in importance, today it is little more than a shell, though it does retain its original facade. Unusual features include the Pictish cross slab in the middle of the ruins and the cracked gravestones with their memento mori of skulls and crossbones.
