More than 50 local craftspeople and tradespeople have contributed their skills and expertise to creating this special apartment. The Studio is spacious, bright and airy, with carefully selected, environmentally friendly and sustainably sourced materials used throughout. Materials have also been chosen with allergy awareness and guest comfort in mind.
Sustainability has been thoughtfully incorporated throughout the apartment. For example, all the skirting boards were created from leftover floorboards, while the kitchen shelves were made from recycled scaffolding boards. The living area also features a comfortable sofa bed, providing an additional sleeping option when required.
The Studio is an accessible property, with the main entrance located on the ground floor. Guests can access the apartment on the upper floor using a lift, specifically designed to accommodate mature guests and those with mobility difficulties. The entire apartment is situated on one level, making it easy to navigate.
Much of the artwork, furniture and unique pieces throughout the apartment have been created by members of Design Bank, whose studios and creative spaces are located on the ground floor. Every item has been carefully selected, with thought given to its design, craftsmanship, sustainability and connection to the local creative community.
