Inishcoo House
Highlights
- Accommodates up to 24 people
- Secluded Island Experience
- Perfect for Families or Large Groups of Friends
Property Overview
Inishcoo Hous is a beautifully restored 18th century coastguard station standing on an untamed 109 Acre Island. Just a 5-minute boat ride form the mainland fishing village of Burtonport. The house has been refurbished as a comfortable eco-retreat but retains its unique character.
Accommodation
Inishcoo House is made up of 8 bedrooms, one of which is a children's dormitory that can sleep 8 kids. The large south-facing terrace looks out over the beautiful bay. The house and surrounding garden are completely enclosed and safe for wandering children. Beyond the old stone wall surrounding the garden are another 6 acres of enclosed private grounds where children can play among the wild flowers and boulders.
Inishcoo Island
There are 4 beautiful natural beaches on Inishcoo Island. Near Beach, the closest to the house, stretches out to neighbouring Eighter Island at low tide: swimming, rock climbing, gathering seashells and building sandcastles are amongst the many things one can do. On the opposite side of the island lies Bottom Beach, secluded within a beautiful bay of crystal clear water. Further on, Shipwreck Beach is the place for seashells, wild mussels, smooth pebbles, and its own small shipwreck!
Explore the Donegal coastline and discover unseen and unspoiled places that can only be reached by kayak. These coastal exploration journeys are a unique opportunity to admire the Wild Atlantic Way at its most dramatic.
Set on the edge of the wild and rugged Atlantic Ocean, Cruit Island golf course offers unrestricted panoramic views that will take your breath away. A natural 9-hole links course, this is golf at its best, where every shot must be methodically thought out.
