Day 1-2

Kuyenda

Only accessible by 4×4. Not in walking distance from the other camps. Due to it’s location it does not sit as well in the middle of an itinerary. The simplest of the camps yet undeniably charming epitomizing the old charm of safari in Africa. 4 simple, thatched rondavels set on the edge of a grassy plain, surrounded by the seemingly out of place palm trees. Guided by Phil Berry, no two outings are the same with the diverse landscapes in walking distance of the camp including salt pans, dry river beds, mopane woodland, the Luangwa River and open plains. Offering exclusive, personalised service for no more than 8 guests.

Day 3-4

Chamilandu

Walking distance from Chindeni only, this is one of the longest direct walks. Set on the edge of the Luangwa River, Chamilandu is undeniably majestic. With only 3 stilted chalets beneath a soaring ebony grove guests have a bird’s eye view over the Luangwa River and the abundant wildlife that has made the valley famous. Open to a 180 vista, each tree house affords you the majesty of Africa in all its forms. Outdoor bathrooms adjoin each chalet with a large shower and double vanities under the open sky. A large game viewing hide is perfect for lunches or lazying in during the day.

Day 5-6

Chindeni

Walking distance from Chamilandu. Located on the banks of an oxbow lagoon which is frequented by game all year round (the lagoon is abundant with game during the hotter months!) and raised on a wooden decking, Chindeni’s 4 en-suite magnificent canvas tents have private decks from which guests can view the resident big game or simply enjoy the extensive birdlife and serenity of the lagoon. Guests have been known to stay in camp during hot October days and see as much wildlife from the deck as on drive
