Day 1

Arrival

Upon arrival at the International Airport El Dorado, you will be met by our representative and will be taken to your hotel.Take the rest of the day to relax and acclimatize.

Day 2

Bogotá

Your journey starts with an early morning visit to the Paloquemao’s Market. This is one of the largest of the country; here you will find a large variety of flowers, exotic fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood, cheese, medicinal herbs as well as typical food- a great opportunity to live a unique cultural experience, tasting some exotic fruits and enjoying a small snack during the visit.

Continue to visit the historical heart of Bogotá, La Candelaria, and its splendid colonial architecture.  Enjoy a stroll around Plaza de Bolivar, Bogotá’s main square, flanked by prominent colonial and Republican-era landmarks like the Cathedral, the Congress Palace, the Cardinal’s Palace, the colonial churches of El Sagrario and San Agustin, the Independence House, the Palace of Justice and the City Hall.  After La Candelaria, head east to Monserrate Hill, for exceptional panoramic views of Bogotá. Continue to visit Bogotá’s Gold Museum, the world’s largest collections of pre-Columbian gold, and a must-see when traveling to Colombia.

The tour ends with a visit to Botero’s Museum. The works on display are all donated by Fernando Botero, Colombia’s most famous contemporary artist. His work is well-known for large, exaggeratedly voluminous figures.  In addition to his work, his art collection is also exhibited.

An expert on Botero’s art and history will join the tour to provide detailed information and personal stories of the artist.

This evening, you will discover the vibrant local gastronomic scene in Andres DC tasting the most typical flavors in Colombia. After being picked up at the Hotel. You will have our vehicle and guide available for 4 hours.

Day 3

Chingaza Excursion

Chingaza National park is located near Bogotá and it is one of the most beautiful places for nature lovers just about 60 km from the city. Most of the Chingaza territory possesses a paramo ecosystem that can only be seen in Colombia, above 3.000m. Chingaza is the habitat for Andean Bear called “Oso de Anteojos”, it is very common to see white-tail deers during the trecks.

We will depart from Bogotá early this morning. It will take at least 1,5 hours to reach the park entrance. After the registration procedure, we will continue towards the refugee called Monteredondo. In this region, it is common to see the deer. Later, we will continue to the heart of Chingaza Park: Laguna de Chingaza.

We may choose from the different trails available depending on the explorer’s physical condition, the date and time we visit, and the season as some trails are opened or closed depending on the season.

Day 4

Flight to Medellin

Our guide will meet you at the lobby of the hotel and will take you to the International Airport El Dorado or Puente Aéreo (depending on your flight). Where you will board your flight directed to Medellin, your next destination.

Upon arrival at José María Córdova International Airport, you will be greeted by our guide and transferred to your selected hotel.

On this day, you will enjoy a Flower Experience in Santa Elena.

The small village of Santa Elena is located less than an hour outside of Medellín in the mountains of Antioquia (over 2000 m high). It is home to a great variety of traditional flower farmers. The flower arrangements of the Flower Festival (“Feria de Flores”), called “silletas”, have an impressive history and are today a cultural symbol of Medellín. On this tour we visit an organic flower farm and experience the traditional peasant culture of Santa Elena.

Day 5

Medellin

Get an insight into the history of the city visiting the “Pueblito Paisa” and enjoy perfect views over the city. Explore the famous Botero Plaza with an exhibition of the Colombian artist Fernando Botero, whose sculptures have become a landmark of the city. Take the Metro Cable up to Santo Domingo, which was once a notorious area of gang violence in Medellín. The cable car was constructed to make the inner city more accessible to people from the outskirts, and allows visitors a glimpse into the lives of the marginalized population. In the Comuna 13 district with its unique Electric Escalators you will observe another innovative project that improved the life quality of the people of Medellín.

Day 6

Río Claro

Explore the fascinating landscape of the mountains of the Eastern Andes. The unique Nature Reserve Rio Claro has been voted one the most beautiful river sceneries in Colombia. Its crystal-clear water and the riverbed of marble meander through the narrow canyon lush with tropical rain forest. Enjoy the nature of the beautiful canyons surrounding “Rio Claro”.

Afterwards you have plenty of time to relax on the stunning beaches of the Claro River. In the afternoon you can enjoy zip-lining across the river. We will return to Medellín in the evening.

Day 7

Guatapé & Peñol

The Peñol Boulder is one of the most spectacular destinations in the surrounding area of Medellín. The 200- meter-high monolith can be climbed with a staircase of 740 steps. Enjoy breathtaking views over the stunning surroundings full of green mountains and blue lakes.

The village of Guatapé is famous for its church and its beautiful, colourful paintings that decorate the houses of the village. On this day trip we will take you on a scenic drive through the Eastern Highlands of Antioquia. You can climb the Peñol Boulder, enjoy a delicious typical Colombian lunch on the waterfront of the Guatapé reservoir, explore the lake on a boat ride and take time to stroll and relax.

Day 8

Bahia Solano

Our guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel on time to transfer you to José María Córdova International Airport, where you will board your flight directed to Bahia Solano, your next destination.

 The Colombian Pacific region covers 808 miles (1,300km) and is limited in the north by Panama and in the south by Ecuador, and it’s a nature lovers’ paradise, full of adventure activities. The region is divided into four departments: Chocó, Valle del Cauca (Cauca Valley), Cauca and Nariño.

This region is very humid due to its high rainfall, for this reason it is one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet. The area is easily reached by plane from Bogotá, Medellin and Cali.

Bahía Solano is recognised as an important destination to witness the amazing annual migration of the humpback whales to warmer waters for the purpose of giving birth to their babies, and the birth of sea turtles and the their subsequent release in the Pacific Ocean. There are also opportunities of deep water diving. Bahía Solano is truly a paradise for nature lovers.

The Lodge organises excursions to the jungle to observe waterfalls and streams, the perfect getaway for nature lovers. Local people are very enthusiastic about ecotourism and nature conservation, guests get a rich ecological message.

Day 9

Tour of the Natural Reserve

Guided tour of the Lodge’s Natural Reserve, Thai massage in the middle of the jungle. Return to lunch, rest and in the afternoon, yoga activity.

Day 10

Utria Natural Park

Start the day with a yoga session, followed by breakfast. Departure to the pier to take the boat to the Natural Park. After 35 min, you will arrive at the administrative headquarters where admission is paid and they offer a talk about the Park, tour (1.2 K) over the wooden bridge over the mangrove swamp. Paddle yoga in the cove. Visit to a solitary white beach to enjoy the bath in crystalline waters and have a picnic lunch.

Day 11

Departure

Start the day with a yoga session, followed by breakfast. You will then enjoy a private airport transfer to José María Córdova Airport, where you will board your departure flight.
