Day 1-3

Cape Town

Explore Cape Town today with your guide. Resting at the confluence of the Indian and Atlantic oceans, situated between the slopes of the iconic Table Mountain and the glistening sapphire waters of Table Bay, the exceptionally scenic city of Cape Town is in a class of its own. Some cities boast rich culture, vibrant nightlife, a cosmopolitan atmosphere and extraordinary architecture, while others boast breathtaking landscapes and extraordinary natural wonders. Cape Town is fortunate to be blessed with all of these attractions and so much more. With its bustling harbour, world-class beaches, top-notch vineyards, and its mountainous surroundings brimming with diverse flora and fauna, Cape Town consistently captivates the hearts of all who visit.

Opt to visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach. Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town is ideal for kids as immense boulders shelter the cove from currents and large waves – but please always take care. It is a rare pleasure to swim with the penguins but don’t touch or feed them. They might look cute and cuddly but their beaks are as sharp as razors and if they feel threatened they have no qualms about nipping the odd finger or nose.

Embark on a boat trip to Seal Island. Trips departing from Hout Bay Harbour ferry passengers across to nearby Duiker Island – also known as Seal Island – where thousands of Cape Fur Seals can be seen in their natural habitat. The boat trip provides beautiful views of the bay, the harbour, The Sentinel and Chapman’s Peak.

Day 4-5

Cape Winelands

Depart Cape Town to venture to the Cape Winelands. Resting at the foot of the Boland Mountains, the Cape Winelands is renowned for producing some of the world’s finest wines. The breathtakingly beautiful landscape boasts incredible mountain scenery and numerous luxury wine farms laden with vineyards stretching across lush fertile valleys. Visitors can look forward to a variety of wonderful activities including: exploring a collection of historic little hamlets and towns dotting the countryside, sampling a wide selection of world-class wine at a historic Cape Dutch farmstead as well as many other wine estates; and enjoying a network of hiking and biking trails traversing the picturesque landscape. While the wine is undoubtedly the highlight of the region, visitors can also enjoy a meal at some of the country’s best restaurants offering delicious food and wine pairings.

Day 6-8

Garden Route

Depart the Cape Winelands to explore South Africa’s famous Garden Route. Sandwiched between the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma Mountains and the glistening Indian Ocean, this lush 200-kilometre stretch of coastal plain between Mossel Bay and Storms River Mouth provides one of the world’s most spectacular drives. Visitors typically base themselves at the heart of the Garden Route – either in Knysna, complete with its scenic lagoon; or neighbouring Plettenberg Bay, famous for its excellent beaches – and then spend a few days exploring countless surrounding attractions. Whether you are seeking pristine, uncrowded white-sand beaches, world-class golf courses, ancient forests, top-notch surf spots, extraordinary nature reserves, excellent hiking opportunities or exhilarating outdoor adventures such as bungee jumping or ziplining, the Garden Route has it all.

Day 9-11

Eastern Cape

Make your way to the Lalibela Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape for your safari experience. Lalibela Game Reserve is a world-renowned safari destination. Lalibela is known for its exceptional game-viewing, comfortable accommodation options and its delicious cuisine. It offers a memorable Big 5 African safari experience in a spectacularly scenic, malaria-free setting. Stretching over 10 500 hectares, it is home to a fantastic diversity of flora and fauna including the famous Big 5 as well as cheetah, jackal, hyena, lynx, giraffe, warthog, zebra, wildebeest, impala, blesbuck and many other antelope species, all of which roam freely in the reserve.
